We had arrived at Concorde El Salam late the previous night for my nephew’s wedding. By the following morning, most of the family were still resting. After a shower, I headed out to see the hotel grounds properly—and find my way around without the darkness of our arrival.
This was a gentle exploration rather than a planned excursion: past the accommodation and pools, through reception, towards the Red Sea, and eventually out to the main gate. The sunshine, flowers and quieter paths made it an enjoyable start to the day.

Seeing the grounds in daylight
My first stop was one of the pools near the accommodation. It was a quiet scene: sunshine on the buildings, someone reading on a balcony, and plenty of space to look around. I had not planned to swim on this short visit, but walking past helped me understand the resort’s layout.
The flowers and planting caught my attention immediately. As someone who enjoys nature, I appreciated the greenery between the buildings and along the paths. It gave me a reason to slow down rather than simply hurry to reception.
I also heard an aircraft overhead during the walk. That was an observation from this particular morning, rather than a judgement about how often aircraft can be heard or what noise is like inside the rooms.
Reception and the hotel entrance
Finding reception took a little checking of directions. Arriving at night had given me only a limited sense of where everything was, so this first daylight walk was useful.
Inside, I paused to enjoy the water feature with its horse decoration and the chandelier above. Then I went towards the front entrance to see the building from another angle. The entrance’s scale and decorative design stood out much more clearly in the morning sun.
From breakfast towards the main pool
After leaving the dining area, I continued towards the larger pool and the coastline. Staff were preparing the pool area for the day, and it looked as though it would become livelier later on.
The view beyond the pool was one of the moments that made me stop. I wondered aloud whether the camera could really capture it properly. The combination of bright sunshine, the pool and the sea beyond was worth taking in slowly.
A quiet moment beside the Red Sea
I gradually found my way down towards the seaside and spent some time on one of the piers, taking in the Red Sea. I chose not to record there because other guests were nearby and I wanted to respect their privacy.
That means the video does not show every part of the beach experience. Some moments are better enjoyed without filming, especially when people are relaxing on holiday.
I took the same approach in the breakfast dining area. On the paths, I turned the camera towards myself when people approached rather than pointing it at their faces.
Walking back uphill and out to the main gate
The return route included a little uphill walking. I enjoy walking, and this was an easy way to add some movement after breakfast while continuing to explore the grounds. As the morning warmed up, I started to feel the heat more.
I exchanged greetings with staff and people passing by. Those small “good mornings” are something I appreciate when travelling: they make an unfamiliar place feel a little more welcoming.
Rather than stopping at reception, I continued towards the main gate and the shops outside. The hotel entrance looked impressive from the road as well, and I paused to look at its design.
The shops outside: what I noticed that morning
Many of the nearby shops were closed when I passed. We had seen a busier market on our outing the previous evening, so the morning atmosphere felt quite different.
I mentioned in the video that the visit took place during Ramadan and wondered whether that affected the quieter scene. I had not checked the shopkeepers’ opening hours or their reasons for being closed. If you want to browse, ask locally when the shops you are interested in usually open rather than assuming they follow one timetable.
What I took away from the walk
You do not always need an organised activity to discover something worth remembering. This morning helped me get my bearings, notice the resort’s planting and architecture, and enjoy a quiet moment beside the sea.
My practical advice is simple: take a short orientation walk after arriving, bring water if you will be out in the warmth, and pay attention to steps, slopes, cleaning work and temporarily closed routes. Give yourself time to look around—and give other guests the privacy you would want yourself.
