We stayed at Concorde El Salam Front Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, for my nephew’s wedding. Our visit was around four nights, on an all-inclusive basis. Although the wedding was our main reason for travelling, I paid attention to the things that matter on a resort holiday: the room, food, service, pools and overall environment.

My experience was very positive overall. The spacious accommodation and clean grounds were particular strengths, while the food was good rather than exceptional. I would place my overall impression at roughly 4.5 out of 5. That is my personal assessment of this stay, not the hotel’s official star classification or an average of other guests’ reviews.

Reception and staff: a good first impression

After the flight and airport formalities, I appreciated a professional welcome at reception. We received our room access cards and all-inclusive wristbands, and the first impression was reassuring.

Across reception, housekeeping, the dining area and pool areas, I generally found the staff helpful and professional. In a large resort, individual interactions naturally vary, but my overall service score would be about 4.5 out of 5.

One example stood out. I had trouble connecting our smart TV to the internet and called for assistance. Someone came promptly to help, and staff later followed up to check that the issue had been resolved. That follow-through mattered as much as the repair itself.

Our room: space, comfort and everyday essentials

I was happy with the size of our room and found the bed comfortable. The bathroom also had good space, with working water and toilet facilities. For what I needed during this visit, I would give the accommodation 5 out of 5.

Our room had a wardrobe, fridge, kettle, mugs, tea and coffee supplies, and a smart TV. Towels and toiletries such as shower gel, shampoo and body lotion were provided. Bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste and other personal essentials.

Housekeeping cleaned the room daily during our stay and replenished used supplies. We had Wi-Fi, and I used YouTube on the TV after the connection issue was fixed. I cannot promise that every room has the same television or that every streaming service will work. Ask about your room category if these features matter, and sign out of any personal account before leaving.

All-inclusive food: good variety, with a few reservations

Breakfast offered a reasonable range of choices, including cereals and cooked options. If you are expecting a familiar full English breakfast, some items may be different. On a couple of mornings I tried chicken sausages that were not to my taste.

Lunch and dinner had enough variety for me, and the selection changed between days. It did not feel like exactly the same meal repeated every day. Overall, I would rate the food around 4 out of 5: good enough choice, with room for improvement.

There was also an Italian restaurant that required a reservation. Check whether it is included in your particular package, how often you can visit, and how to book. I did not record reliable breakfast, lunch or dinner opening times, so ask for the current timetable when you arrive.

Drinks: I preferred the bar to the dispensers

Some of the drinks from the dining-area machines tasted watery to me. I preferred the juice served at the bar, particularly the mango juice. Coffee was a stronger point: I enjoyed it from both the machine and the bar.

Dining staff also came around to offer drinks. I could ask for alternatives to the dispenser drinks, including red wine during our stay. Check the drinks list attached to your own all-inclusive package, especially if particular brands matter to you.

The dining team kept clearing and resetting tables. I did not find the restaurant dominated by dirty, uncleared tables, which helped make mealtimes more pleasant.

Pools and beach: what I actually saw

I saw four pools during our visit: two around the accommodation areas, an indoor pool, and the larger infinity pool. This is what I noticed, rather than a claim about the total number of pools across both hotel areas. Pool access, opening hours and heating arrangements should be checked for your travel dates.

Front Hotel gave us access to the beachfront area. It was not the broad, soft-sand beach some travellers might picture. There were steps down, loungers and towels available around the beach area. I noticed what appeared to be a ramp, but I did not assess accessibility thoroughly. If you have mobility needs, ask the hotel about the complete route from your room to the beach and pools.

I noticed water-based activities being offered, but did not investigate or try them in enough detail to review them. Confirm operators, safety arrangements and extra charges before booking an activity; do not assume it is included in all-inclusive.

Clean grounds and a low-rise layout

The resort grounds were very clean, with greenery throughout. I would give that aspect 5 out of 5. It made the setting feel cared for and pleasant to walk around.

I also liked the generally low-rise accommodation. The buildings I saw were mainly two or three levels rather than a single high-rise tower. That suited my preference for a more homely resort layout. Because stairs featured in the accommodation areas, request a suitable room and confirm access if stairs would be difficult for you.

Entertainment: not something I can fairly score

I did not spend enough time with the entertainment programme to give a useful assessment. We were there for a wedding, and entertainment was not my priority. If evening shows or children’s activities are important to your holiday, ask for the current programme rather than relying on my review for that part.

For a closer look at the setting, join my morning walk around the gardens, pools and Red Sea.

My booking checklist

  • Confirm Front or Sport: check the exact hotel area, room type and facility access.
  • Read the all-inclusive terms: confirm restaurants, drinks, reservations and anything charged separately.
  • Check beach expectations: ask about the shoreline, sea-entry arrangements and routes involving steps.
  • Ask about pools: confirm access, seasonal heating and opening hours.
  • Request the right room: check stairs, accessibility and amenities that matter to you.
  • Compare the full price: include flights, transfers and extras, rather than judging value by the room price alone.

Would I recommend Concorde El Salam Front Hotel?

Yes, based on our stay. The room met my needs, staff generally did a good job, and the clean, green setting was a real strength. The food was enjoyable overall, although some breakfast items and dispenser drinks were less appealing to me.

I felt we received good value, but I have deliberately not quoted our booking price: the rate depends on the dates, room and package. My experience gives you a starting point; compare it with your own priorities and the terms of the booking you are considering.
